DESPITE a frosty start, conditions soon warmed up as 32 players competed in Broadway Golf Club’s ladies’ Winter League third round which was won by Fran Andrews and Camilla Haines.
The duo topped the pile with 31 points in the foursomes match contested over 16 holes, with just one ball played per pair and then alternate shots taken until the hole was completed.
Second to fourth placings were decided on countback, with all pairs achieving a creditable 30 points.
Linda Carruthers and Beccie Williams earned second, Sue Barker and Lynda Newbery third and Debbie Donoghue and Andi Stedman fourth.
Ladies now look forward to a short rest before they return to do battle in the fourth round of their Winter League contest early in the new year.
