Alderton end New Inn Pershore's Knockout Cup hopes

IT WILL not be a case of third time lucky for New Inn Pershore after the Evesham Mechanical Services Knockout Cup beaten finalists of the last two seasons were beaten 2-1 by Division Two’s Alderton.

Hosts New Inn led the second round tie through a Dan Rushton goal before Matt Greaves levelled and an injury-time Josh Allen goal clinched victory for the visitors.

Holders Bretforton Old Boys progressed 5-3 against Tewkesbury Town as Worcestershire cricketer Daryl Mitchell bagged a hat-trick for the victorious home side. Ash Booth netted a brace for Old Boys and Ryan Harper, Josh Long and Matt Cox scored for the visitors.

Bretforton Sports Club were beaten on penalties at Mickleton Rangers after a 3-3 draw in which Josh Collins (2) and Josh Keyte scored for Rangers and Sports Club replied with goals from Steve Edghill, Ciaran Gilbert and Luke Smith-Daniel.




Strawberry Field United hit nine without reply against Bredon through Keiran Downey (3), Matt Magee (2), Jake Maisey (2) and Dougie Wallace (2).

Offenham Rovers won 3-1 at TDMS Harvington through goals from Jake Hall (2) and Kays Sibanda, with Carl Wallace on the mark for the hosts.


Evesham WMC defeated Inkberrow 2-1 as Lewis Sheen scored for the home side but James White and Dominic Hartland scored for the Workies.

Also through are Stour Excelsior Reserves who edged out Ashton 88 by a 3-2 scoreline in which Nick Shurmer (2) and Tom Grace scored for Stour and Lewis Carter and Matthew Ingle struck for Ashton.

Division Two leaders Cropthorne were held 0-0 at Pebworth, whilst Fladbury came from behind to win 3-2 at AFC Cheltenham as Ryan Caddick and Liam Robinson scored for the home team and Will Green (2) and Max Ferriday struck for Fladbury.

Fortis and visitors TDMS Evesham shared eight goals in an entertaining draw in which veteran Phil Rainey (2), Jon Wallace and Paul McFarlane scored for Fortis and TDMS netted through Tom Jones (2), Robbie Patching and Ben Cole.

Stratford HGC head Division Three after Sam Jalowiecki (4) and Andrew Drakes scored in a 5-1 win at Alcester Town, whilst Vale United recorded their biggest win as they triumphed 7-0 at Bengeworth with goals coming from Graham Westmacott (3), Paul Law (2), Chris Ainsworth and Jack Steadman.

Dragons recorded a much-needed 6-1 win at Ambi Allsports through goals from Alex Lane (2), Mike Emptage, Dion Mayhew, Scott Sinden and Darren Wilsden. The hosts’ consolation came via Aiden Booth.
