SCHOOLS, businesses and residents from across the Vale will today be taking part in a host of fund-raising events for BBC Children in Need.
The annual fund-raising extravaganza returns for another year and as ever the UK is set to raise millions of pounds for disadvantaged children across the country.
Kind-hearted residents, schools and businesses are set to do their bit for the annual appeal with fund-raising events taking place across the Vale.
Yesterday St Andrew’s CE School in Hampton welcomed Pudsey Bear for their day of fund-raising activities.
Youngsters at the school donated £1 to dress as their hero – with pupils dressing up as policemen and women, nurses and batgirls.
In total the Hampton school raised a total of £243 for this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal.
Staff at the Valkyrie Bar in Market Place have been hard at work today raising money for Children in Need. So far the bar’s staff have raised £135 for the charity by wearing onesies, holding a raffle and duck races.
