YOUNG people from Evesham and Pershore will get to showcase their talent when The W Factor returns in the coming weeks.
Open auditions for the contest will take place at The De Montfort School on Wednesday, November 20 and the following day (November 21) at the Civic Centre in Pershore. Both events start at 5.30pm.
The W Factor is open to performers and artists aged between 11 and 18 who live in Wychavon district.
There are a number of categories, including dance, drama, music, singing, DJ and music production and comedy.
The selected finalists will get to perform at the Number 8 Arts Centre in Pershore in a professional showcase final with industry standard production facilities on February 10.
For the 2019 final, 11 young people from across Wychavon competed in front of family and friends for the accolade of being crowned a winner in one of the four categories.
The winners will also get training from professional artists to help them develop and they will be able to perform at local events throughout the summer of 2020.
Tracy Grubb, Wychavon Council’s community development officer, said: “Over the years the competition has been brilliant for developing young artists, but it’s also been great at helping those taking part to develop their confidence and build a strong personality, which will hopefully help them as they pursue their careers.”
