YOUNGSTERS at a popular Evesham community centre received a surprise visit when Hampton Ferry mascots turned up to challenge them to a tug-of-war competition.

Webby Frog, Gizmo Bunny and Feral Fox recently visited Wallace House Community Centre’s Youth Club to take on the children in the popular fête game as part of the ‘Countdown to The Wallace House Games’, ahead of The Hampton Ferry Show on Sunday, August 7.

The community centre is currently undergoing a £170,000 face-lift and is the principal charity partner of the summer show, which will include a variety of family fun traditional village sports games.

The show, which is now in its seventh year, is a major event in The Hampton Ferry calendar and is already taking bookings for trade and charity stalls.

As well as The Wallace House Games, arena events and side shows already confirmed this year include pony rides, a climbing wall, inflatable play area, live music and a dog show.

Call show director Fran Webb on 07801 983112 or e-mail [email protected] to book a stall at the show.

Entry forms for the tug of-war competition can be collected from Wallace House Community Centre on Oat Street.
