Youngsters surprised by kind Amazon donation

YOUNGSTERS at an Evesham first school received a surprise delivery when Amazon donated 20 Kindle devices.

Pupils at St Richard’s CE First School were given the kind donation  by Amazon’s Regional Operations Director Nicola Sweeney during a special assembly.

Teaching assistant Lizzie Kelly recently enjoyed a public tour of Amazon’s Hemel Hempstead fulfilment centre as part of her son’s birthday celebrations.

During the visit, Mrs Kelly heard about the work that Amazon does in the community and this inspired her husband to write to Amazon asking if there was anything they could do for the school.

“The pupils, staff and parents at St Richard’s are over the moon with this donation,” she said.

“The Kindle devices will be a valuable resource at the school and will be used to raise standards and engagement with reading.

“Pupils will use them during guided reading sessions and I’m sure they will motivate pupils to read even more.

“Thank you to Nicola and the team at Amazon for this kind donation.”
