A BUSY Evesham road could re-open next week after county transport chiefs confirmed work to improve drainage and repair the crack in the road was set to start.
Worcester Road has been closed since December 29 between the Chadbury roundabout and the retail parks because after a large crack appeared in the road surface.
It’s the latest issue to blight the stretch of road which was also closed in 2013 after a section of the carriageway was found to have sunk below the rest of the road.
County transport chiefs have confirmed work will begin tomorrow (Thursday) to tackle the problems with the hope the road will be re-opened next week.
