AN HISTORIC Evesham hotel has been shortlisted for a top Midlands honour in the 2017 Hospitality Awards.

The Wood Norton has been shortlisted as ‘Hotel of the Year’ in the popular awards and is one of seven finalists for the Midlands.

This award nomination comes just three months after The Wood Norton achieved its second rosette for culinary excellence by the AA Hotel and Hospitality Services.

Officially re-opened in late 2012 following an extensive £10million refurbishment program, the Wood Norton has become a popular choice for tourists visiting the local area and local residents alike – wowed by its original 19th Century French décor throughout and unique offering.

General manager Steve Sweeny, said: “Since The Wood Norton opened in late 2012 we have worked extremely hard to create a luxurious and comfortable experience for all our guests – whether tourists to the area, local residents using the bar and restaurant facilities, or corporate and wedding guests.

“I am extremely delighted that this hard work has paid off and The Wood Norton has been shortlisted as just one of seven finalists in the Midlands category – particularly when you consider how many hotels there are across the region,” he added.

The Wood Norton will now go on to battle it out in the Hospitality Awards ceremony, which is black tie event held at the Mecure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel on Monday, February 6.
