Witnesses sought after town assault

A MAN was allegedly assaulted after he intervened in an altercation between a man and a woman in Cowl Street on Sunday (July 20) at 2am.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which saw the victim, a 32-year-old man, taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

A 23-year-old man from Evesham, Jake Munro, has been charged in connection to the incident with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, common assault by beating, and harassment.

He will appear at Worcester Crown Court on October 27.

West Mercia Police non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 136 of 20th July 2014.
