Witness appeal after A46 collision leaves woman in critical condition

A WOMAN in her 70s suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash between a car and a lorry on the A46.

The collision took place between a grey Honda Jazz and a green and white Man Truck near the junction of Elm Road at just after 2pm on Tuesday (December 11) and saw the stretch of road closed in both directions between the Twyford roundabout and the Badsey island for several hours.

An ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene along with the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham with a doctor and critical care paramedic on board.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance staff worked with firefighters to remove the woman from the car, which had been badly damaged.




“She was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being airlifted to the major trauma centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

“The man driving the lorry was understandably shaken but was unhurt.”


The woman remains in a critical condition in hospital and officers are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage of the incident
