THE VALE Wildlife Hospital at Beckford holds its biggest fundraising event this Sunday (July 5) with its annual open day.

This is the public’s one chance in the year to see behind the doors of one of the UK’s busiest wildlife hospitals, which celebrated 42 years in June with a fun dog show starting at 12pm.

Expect more than 100 stalls providing a variety of games, foods, crafts as well as plenty of live music and entertainment.

A new £25,000 waterbird enclosure – a safe and enriching space for the many ducklings and other waterbirds in its care will be showcased.

Hospital founder Caroline Gould, said: “We would love you to join us on Sunday for our much-loved Open Day. It promises to be a fantastic day with plenty to see and do for all ages.”

The rescue centre a few miles from Evesham costs £75,000 a month to run and is completely reliant on the public’s generosity to operate.

The event runs from 11am to 4pm and entrance costs £5 per person and free for the under 10s.
