Why there will be no Empty Jars at new Evesham zero waste shop

Evesham Editorial 28th Apr, 2022   0

EVESHAM’s first ‘zero waste’ will open its doors to enable shoppers to fill up on food, toiletries, cleaning supplies and more.

Empty Jars is the brain child of county couple Maddie Kirby and husband Marino and will welcome shoppers from Saturday (April 30).

The shop, which is in the centre of town at 8 Vine Street, aims to sell as much organic and local produce as possible.

In store shoppers will be able to fill up on all essentials, as well as gifts and other items, without any packaging.

Bring along a bottle or tub and fill it up, those with spares can take them along to the shop for other people to use.

“We find as consumers it is so hard to live without plastic and unnecessary waste and believe the best way to really solve this problem, is to prevent waste in the first place,” the couple said.

“We are really excited to be opening our first ever shop, Empty Jars, and hope it will help us all to be kinder to the planet.

“With our first stock order, we have already saved hundreds of plastic bottles.

“Our laundry liquid, shampoos, conditioners, washing up liquids, detergents, and cooking oils all come from a circular economy which means that the big tubs from which you can dispense your liquids into your own bottles to take home, go back to our suppliers to be reused again.

The shop will be open from Tuesdays to Fridays 9am to 5pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
