When your bin will be collected this Christmas

Evesham Editorial 19th Dec, 2014 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

WASTE collections across Evesham and Pershore will be done at different times to the usual weekly schedule during the festive season.

The changes will be in force from December 29 to January 9. Those needing extra capacity can get additional clear sacks for recycling which are available from Customer Contact Centres.

The 2015 calendars are also available from www.wychavon.gov.uk and from Wychavon’s Customer Contact Centres.

Sharon Casswell, Wychavon District Council’s client services manager, said: “Christmas is a hectic time for everyone and we don’t want people to get stuck with extra waste and recycling if they forget their Christmas dates have changed.

“Dates can also be looked up on our website and were publicised as usual in the Wychavon magazine.

“We decided to trial not distributing a calendar to every household this year due to the expense plus the information is really easy to get hold of on our website.

“For those that aren’t online – copies can be collected from Customer Contact Centres in the three towns.”

Those wanting to get rid of their Christmas trees in the new year can take them to Household Recycling Centres or chop them up and put them in garden waste bins.

Residents are being reminded that they need to check their collection dates over the festive season as recycling, refuse and garden waste will be affected by the Christmas period.
