YOUNGSTERS at a Pinvin school have thanked the community for rallying together and raising donations to rebuild their wendy playhouse after it was smashed apart and burnt by vandals.
Children from Pinvin Community Pre-School were devastated to find out their their beloved Forest School playhouse, based at the allotments near Main Street, was destroyed in January.
The extent of the damage left the wooden structure, which is used by pupils to learn about the environment and wildlife, unsafe and out of bounds, but local businesses have since pulled together to help build a new playhouse.
Marshalls Transport Evesham, Evesham United Football club, Lambrou Motors and members of public contributed funds and resources to help the site become safe for the youngsters to use again.
Hana Malins, chair of the school committee, said: “The children have enjoyed using the new playhouse and have been planting vegetables and fruit ready to harvest later in the year.
“All the children and staff want to say a huge thank you to all of those involved in making this happen, whether it was through financial help, resources or time. We’re grateful to those who helped us make the playhouse a wonderful outside space for our children once again.”
