We hear and read so much about ‘Peace’ in today’s cruel world.
From the call for ‘Peace’ in the war-torn areas to the fact that each of us individually is looking for that time of ‘Peace’ and quiet in our lives.
For each of us, that sense of ‘Peace’ can come in so many different ways, from getting away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives to being alone and quiet.
A number of years ago I saw a picture of a raging waterfall with many horses racing around on the banks of the river but one horse was standing quietly drinking from the water.
The picture was entitled ‘Peace’.
In the gospels we read of the many occasions when Jesus Christ is referred to as ‘The Prince of Peace’.
As He travelled around telling the people of the wonderful Love, Joy and ‘Peace’ of His Father, God, thousands of those people experienced a tremendous sense of that ‘Peace’ in their daily lives.
Those people lived in a world full of difficulties and terror just as we do today and like them, we can know that ‘Peace’ which comes from God through His Son Jesus Christ, as we accept Him as Lord and Saviour of our lives.
