Warning after a spate of burglaries

A SPATE of burglaries has taken place on a busy Pershore road including burglaries in four homes on Wednesday night (December 9).

Nine properties along the B4084 Pershore to Worcester road have been broken into in just five days between Friday, December 4 and Wednesday, December 9.

Officers are urging residents in the area to leave lights on if they know they won’t be at home in the evenings as most of the burglaries have taken place between 4pm and 5pm when the homeowners are at work, or before 9pm when they maybe out.

PC Sean Woods from Pershore Safer Neighbourhood Team told the Observer officers believe it is the same person or group of people carrying out the burglaries as cash, jewellery, phones and laptops appear to be items the culprits are targeting.

Police patrols in the area are to be beefed up to prevent any further properties from being broken into as officers seek to reassure residents they are doing all they can to catch the burglars.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity is urged to call the police on 101.
