EVESHAM Vale Cardiac Rehab (EVCR) chiefs were on hand to receive a cheque for £300 from the town’s Waitrose after shoppers gave the charity the thumbs up.

Shoppers used their green tokens to back EVCR in the latest round of the retail giants Community Matters scheme which sees £1,000 shared between three local good causes every month.

Delighted EVCR chairman Gerry O’Donnell and secretary John Darby were handed the cash boost in a presentation at the Merstow Green store last Wednesday (March 6)

“Thanks to the Evesham shoppers for choosing EVCR as their local charity to receive this Waitrose donation, which will contribute to the purchase of exercise bikes,” Gerry said.

“EVCR is a vital local service which helps the victims of heart attack and other cardiac events to reduce their risk of a recurrence and return to a fulfilling life.”
