A VILLAGE shop will be celebrating Community Business Weekend by showcasing a range of local produce.
Bretforton Village Shop, which opened its doors nearly three years ago, is owned by villagers who rallied together to build the shop following the closure of its predecessor in 2013.
More than 250 local residents joined together to support the community share offer and they all have an equal say in ensuring the shop is run to benefit Bretforton.
Open seven days a week, the shop relies on a team of more than 50 volunteers, working alongside three part-time assistant managers.
Samples of local produce will be on offer for visitors to try as well as teas, coffees and cakes.
Manager Kim Carter said: “There’ll be a display of ‘our story’ and we’ll be completing the founder members’ panel, ready for permanent display in the shop.
Chris Buckham, chairman of the Shop’s Management Committee, added: “This is a great opportunity for newer residents to sample our wares, hear our story and find out how they can support the future of the shop by becoming members or by joining our fantastic band of volunteers.”
