AN EVESHAM driver who had a racial slur daubed across their car has been left upset and scared by the ordeal.

At about 7am on Sunday, January 16, the victim’s vehicle was parked on a drive in Ellison Close when offenders sprayed a racial slur across the vehicle in bright orange paint.

Police have now launched an appeal and Hate Crime Officer PC Dane Roleston-Lowe said: “This disgusting act has understandably upset and scared the victim and we are treating this as a hate crime.

“I would like to hear from anyone who has information about the incident, who saw anything or can help with our investigation in any way.

“Perhaps you were driving along or near to Ellison Close between 6.30am and 7.15am and saw someone acting suspiciously or have dash-cam footage which can assist with our enquiries.

“I want to encourage anyone who believes they have been victimised or are the victim of a hate incident or crime or if they witness a hate related incident to also please come forward.

“We will treat all crime reports seriously and with impartiality. You will be treated with respect and officers will provide you with a unique crime reference number.

“During the process, officers will ask you whether you wish to pursue a formal complaint or not, and they will always explain what is expected of you.

“Hate crimes can include any incident, in person or online, when people are targeted for any of the following, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, disability or gender identification, and should all be reported.
