THE DRIVER of a white van which was chased through the streets of Evesham was wanted on recall to prison, police have revealed.
Officers from West Mercia Police’s Operations Patrol Unit assisted colleagues from Gloucestershire Police in the pursuit on Sunday (September 27) evening.
After a chase into Evesham and through the streets, the driver reversed rammed police and to protect the public officers ended the pursuit using tactical contact, forcing the van into a building on Shor Street.
Firefighters from Evesham Fire Station were called to the scene at 9pm.
After making the vehicle safe, the incident was passed to West Mercia Police for further investigation.
