Valley goes green again for second annual Colour Run

Evesham Editorial 2nd Jun, 2017   0

GREEN was the colour as more than 500 runners and spectators flocked to Evesham’s second annual Valley Asparagus Colour Run.

Competitors of all ages from across the Vale, Cheltenham, Redditch, Worcester and Warwick took to The Valley’s countryside last Sunday, to be splashed in green powder paint as they ran the colourful 5km course.

The family fun run is one of many events and celebrations taking place throughout the British Asparagus Festival, which is in full swing during June.

Phil Maclean, The Valley marketing manager, said: “It was a fantastic family event and due to it’s quirkiness, it also attracted many first time runners.

“Big thanks go to Visit Wychavon who supported the event with their larger than life character AsparaGus, Vale Balloons for creating a fantastic asparagus finishing arch and all the volunteers from St Richard’s Hospice who helped man the course,” he added.
