Vale's Frankie & Benny's spared the axe

Evesham Editorial 30th Aug, 2016 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

EVESHAM’s Frankie & Benny’s has been spared the axe after company bosses announced the closure of 33 restaurants nationwide.

The Restaurant Group, the owner of the Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito chains, confirmed last week it will be closing a number of restaurants due to a ‘challenging trading period.’

But a spokesman has confirmed to the Observer that the Evesham outlet is safe and doesn’t feature on the list of closures.

Restaurant Group bosses said its Frankie & Benny’s chain had “suffered due to insufficient focus on value, unsuccessful menu development and poor operational execution”.  They also said their closing restaurants lost customers after “significant price increases and the removal of popular value offers”.

Around half of the restaurant closures planned would be across the Frankie and Benny’s chain, leaving it with around 235 outlets. But bosses added they will be sticking with the Frankie and Benny’s brand.
