Vale volunteers sought to help with Marie Curie's appeal

MARIE Curie is appealing to Vale residents to ‘get behind the daffodil’ by volunteering for the charity’s annual appeal.

The charity is in need of volunteers to help with the distribution and return of their collection tins and daffodil boxes to shops, restaurants and other venues across Evesham and Pershore for their Great Daffodil Appeal.

Money raised from the tins and daffodil boxes will help Marie Curie nurses provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones at home in the Vale.

Volunteers would be given training and would be responsible for finding shops and restaurants to place collection boxes, as well as counting and banking the money that is raised.

Rachel Nash, Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie in Evesham, said: “The Great Daffodil Appeal is our biggest annual fundraising campaign, making it possible for Marie Curie Nurses to give care and support when people need it most.

“Placing daffodil boxes and tins for the charity will mean you are creating new relationships with businesses to grow our network as well as raising vital income for the Evesham Nurses.”
