ALZHEIMER’S Research UK has said a big ‘thank you’ to the Vale Harmony Barbershop Chorus for raising almost £2,000 for them last year.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to the singers at one of their regular Wednesday night rehearsals at the St Andrew’s Centre in Pershore.

Vale Harmony raised some of the money by singing at the Pershore Plum Fayre and at the Hillers and Ellenden Farm shops, but most of it – £1,500 – was raised at a Christmas Concert at Pershore Abbey.

Vale Harmony’s Chorus Director, Mike Gearey, from Droitwich, received the certificate from Zoe Baggott, regional fundraising officer at Alzheimer’s Research UK.

“We are thrilled that Vale Harmony raised so much for us – a total of £1,927,” said Zoe.

“Their singing is so impressive and their money-raising efforts will be invaluable in helping us try to bring about a life-changing dementia treatment by 2025.”

She also sent thanks to the Great Western Chorus in Bristol who sang alongside Vale Harmony at their Pershore Abbey concert.

Vale Harmony have chosen Pancreatic Cancer UK as the charity they will support in 2018. For more information, see the website at www.valeharmony.co.uk
