A VALE hotel, a local arts festival and a college have all reached the finals of a prestigious tourism award.
Judging for the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards for Excellence 2017 has begun and the Vale’s finalists are in with a chance of being crowned the best in their industry.
Eckington Manor is a finalist in three categories – the best conference venue, best guest accommodation and the best for eating out.
The Vale’s two other finalists include the Broadway Arts Festival in the best festival and events (community) category and Pershore College in the best drink producer category for its fruit juice.
The awards for excellence are aligned with the national VisitEngland Awards which means the winners of each category will have the opportunity to highlight themselves on a national level.
The Worcestershire finalists will discover if they have won their category at an exclusive awards ceremony which will be held at Malvern Theatres, Malvern, on September 19.
Judy Gardner, owner and founder of Eckington Manor, said: “We’re absolutely over the moon to have been named as finalists in not one, not two, but three categories in the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards for Excellence this year.
“We put an incredible amount of effort into ensuring that each of our guests enjoy a fantastic time with us, whether that is staying overnight with us in the manor, eating with us in the restaurant or visiting us in a business capacity.
“To be recognised even as finalists in each of these categories in such a prestigious awards scheme is an achievement in itself and we’d like to thank each and every one of our staff for always going above and beyond to put our customer experience first.
“We’ll be keeping our fingers very much crossed for the final,” she said.
