GREEN-FINGERED residents were honoured as the winners winners of Wychavon District Council’s ‘Let’s Spread Some Sunshine’ competition were revealed
The top spot was claimed by Evesham’s Huish family, whose sunflower grew to a whopping 260 centimetres tall.
The competition received a number of other entries, however, their sunflowers were not quite tall enough to clinch the top spot and the prize of a £100 Amazon voucher. Instead, the five runners up will receive £20 Amazon vouchers and the other entrants will receive a £10 voucher for their efforts.
The competition was run in partnership between Wychavon and FCC Environment, its waste and recycling partner and received lots of entries from residents in the area.
Lucy Huish said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the competition, we absolutely loved taking part in this competition, our garden was brimming with colour! We’d also like to thank the refuse workers and other key workers who kept going during the pandemic.
“The ones who collect our bins are fantastic, they are always so hard working and cheerful.”
