Two Evesham residents launch donation appeal to help the homeless this Christmas

TWO kind-hearted Evesham residents will be spending the weekend before Christmas handing out food and clothes to homeless people and they are urging the town to support them.

Charley Hedgecock and Anez Simpson have launched a fundraising appeal for food, water, clothes and bedding to hand out to those in need during their weekend of helping the homeless.

The kind 21-year-olds will be in Oxford on Saturday, December 23 before heading to Cheltenham and Worcester the following day to spread a bit of festive joy to those who have nothing.

And before they head out to help the homeless, the kind-hearted duo are urging Vale residents to donate anything they can in order to buy as much as possible for the homeless.

Speaking to the Observer, Charley said she was inspired to act after she visited Oxford and saw firsthand the number of homeless people on the streets of the city.

“I just couldn’t believe how many homeless people there were on every street and that’s when I decided I was going to help.

“Me and my dad already do a lot to help the homeless in anyway we can.

“I just don’t believe in this day and age there should be homeless people on our streets.

“This is why me and Anez will be spending the weekend handing out packages with hot food, clothing and bedding.

“I’ve set up a fundraising page to help us buy as much as we can to help the people over the Christmas period, so any donations would be really appreciated.

“If you have any spare money, and it doesn’t matter how small, to donate we’d be more than grateful.

“Random acts of kindness go a long way!”
