A MAN and a woman were arrested in Evesham town centre on Saturday (September 20) following reports of a theft of jewellery.
A quick response by local police who were called to High Street at around 1.30pm resulted in the suspects being apprehended and detained.
Craig Ivers, 41, of Charles Henry Road, Droitwich, was subsequently charged with theft from a shop and possession of class B drugs.
He has been bailed to appear at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 7.
A 45-year old woman was arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop and possession of class A drugs.
She has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
A spokesperson from Evesham Police said: “Thanks to the swift response from E Shift Response and the Safer Neighbourhood Team both suspects were promptly arrested and taken into custody.”
