A VICTIM of the Coronavirus at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital was comforted by a caring staff member in his final moments, health chiefs have revealed.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust have shared the story of Charlie Vigurs who works in the intensive care unit at the Royal and her kind-hearted gesture after she became aware of the plight of a man on the unit suffering the virus.
As the ‘relatively young’ man’s wife could not be by his side during due to the virus, Charlie took it upon herself to sit with the patient as his life drew to a close.
The kind-hearted staff member held his hand and spoke to him to comfort him as he passed away.
A trust spokesperson said: “Whilst we are all trying to cope with this devastating virus, Charlie’s actions reflect the human touch that we’d all like our loved ones to experience in their final moments.
