Trust chiefs swing into action for NHS

Evesham Editorial 30th May, 2020   0

A POPULAR Evesham charity has teamed up with members of the North Cotswold NHS Sewing Group to provide suitable virus free material to make scrub bags for the NHS.

Inspired by a suggestion from Honeybourne resident Kath Sillence, Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust founders swung into action to support the life-saving heroes in our local NHS.

Trust founder Sue Sollis said: “Kath asked me how the charity was coping with having to close both charity shops.  I mentioned the enormous amount of pre-virus stock we have stored away which we are unable to sell.

“Kath put me in direct contact Anne Sykes of the NHS Sewing Group, who has expressed gratitude for what we have been able to provide.”

“It’s really great to be able to put our stock to good use and the face masks are a super practical way of raising much needed donations.

Kath also offered to make masks out of the shops clothing for the Tracy Sollis Charity. They are now available at The Thatch Tavern in Honeybourne for a small donation.
