Truck show ready to stop in town

Evesham Editorial 23rd Oct, 2014 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

TRUCK fans in Evesham are being invited to hop on board and help a major new show for the town get into top gear.

The Evesham Truck Show will make its debut in 2015 at Ashdown Farm on Badsey Road and organisers hope Vale residents and businesses will show their support.

Founded by Lisa Beafley from H and I Transport on Davies Road this summer, the event will showcase not only the best trucks but also the best Evesham has to offer.

“After attending a few shows last year in different areas of the country, I felt our own show would be a great weekend for local

Evesham people and it would also bring people into the town and give local business a helping hand.” Lisa told the Observer.

Different companies have been approached for the event which takes place from April 24 to 26 and is open to the public on the Saturday and Sunday (April 25 and 26).

“We are currently seeking more people to have stands at this event and I am trying to push local people to have a stand as I am a great believer in wanting to try and help the local people as it is being held in their town and I feel that they will really

benefit them.” Lisa said.

Companies do not need to be truck related as the event is open to all businesses from all over the country as well as Evesham.

Poignantly, the show will remember businessman Ian Dyer from IDS Transport and local resident Ron Sinclair with awards for the best overall truck and best working truck named in their honour.

The Fleece Inn will be on hand for a beer and ale festival and live music throughout the day while two local bands will take to the stage to provide entertainment on Saturday evening.

Local charities Mezzo Dance Company, Evesham Sea Cadets and the German Shepherd Elite will be performing over the weekend and raising cash for their organisations.

Anyone interested in supporting the show can call Lisa on 07807 512995 for more information.
