TRIBUTES have been paid to a county councillor and community champion who died suddenly three days after Christmas.
Coun Peter Griffiths passed away on Thursday (December 28). He was elected in May 2021 to represent residents in Evesham North West for the Conservative Party
He served on several committees including Audit and Governance Committee and Health Overview and Scrutiny.
Coun Griffiths was also a member of Evesham Town Council.
County council leader Coun Simon Geraghty said:
“We all mourn the very sad passing of our friend and colleague Peter Griffiths, who died unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon.
“Not only was Peter a very active member of Worcestershire County Council but was also a dedicated and committed champion for Evesham.
“I know Peter’s family will be in all our thoughts at this very difficult time and offer my sincere condolences.
“The loss of Peter will be felt by many across the county of Worcestershire.”
