Tree of Light could help causes

A RALLYING call has gone out to Vale charities who would welcome the chance to be considered for a cash boot from the town’s popular Tree of Light appeal this winter.

Over the last 20 years the Tree of Light has raised over £250,000 and each year about £15,000 is available to support charities.

Organisers have a list of local charities they consider for support and have urged good causes across Evesham who may not be on the list to get in touch to be in with a chance of a festive bonus.

Run by the town’s Rotary Club, the famous tree by Workman Bridge is an iconic element of the Christmas celebrations in Evesham.

The Tree of Light allows sponsors to remember loved ones at Christmas time whilst at the same time raises funds for worthwhile causes which support others who are in need.

The name and the symbolism of the Rotary Tree of Light are reminders that there is light and hope in the world.

Charities who wish to be considered can call John Darby on 01386 881862 or e-mail [email protected].
