Tree days of fun

Ross Crawford 16th Aug, 2018   0

APF 2018, the UK’s largest and most exciting trees and timber show, is returning to Ragley Estate Alcester on September 20-22.

The event is a showcase for everything that happens in a modern working woodland and visitors can see the whole lifecycle of a tree from seed to sawmill and the myriad of uses that trees and timber can be used for from furniture to firewood.

Visitors can see what is probably the UK’s largest traditional woodland crafts display featuring such skills as hazel hurdles, coracles, charcoal burning, wheelwrights, pole lathe turning, willow weaving, besom broom making and many more.

Visitors will be able to have-a -go at many of these skills.

If all that wasn’t enough the show will feature the Husqvarna World Poleclimbing Championships, the European Chainsaw Carving Championships and the loggers of the Stihl Timbersports.

Visitors will be able to bid for one of the stunning carvings in an auction on Saturday afternoon.
