PERSHORE Town Choir was in fine voice on August 13 as they performed the first of their gigs for the Plum Festival, raising £95 for Prostate Cancer UK.

The free event in Chapman Court saw the choir sing hits including Elton Johns’s ‘Can you feel the love tonight’ and the Beatles ‘All You Need is Love.’

This is the first of two free concerts being held as part of the Plum Festival, with the next one at Pershore Abbey on August 29 at 12.45.

The choir was formed in 2008 but had to disband for 18 months during the pandemic.

Musical Director David Barclay said: “It’s just great that the choir can sing again – it has been a part of Pershore for 14 years.

“Recovering from the pandemic has been a long haul but we’re happy to be performing again for the town.”
