A ROAD in the centre of Evesham has closed due to a burst water main.

Following the closure of Chapel Street a diversion is now in place and cars are now able to travel two-ways on Mill Street.

Severn Trent has said they don’t yet have an estimated reopening time and customer supplies have not been affected.

A spokesperson for Severn Trent said: “We currently have engineers working in Chapel Street in Evesham to fix a burst water pipe.

“To make sure they can work safely one lane of the road is currently closed to traffic, a diversion is in place in the area.

“Customer supplies have not been affected by the burst but we’re really sorry for any inconvenience that’s been caused. We’ll work to fix the problem and get everything back to normal as quickly as possible.”
