VALE commuters are being advised two town car parks will be closed next week for repair work.
Chapel Street car park in Evesham and Pershore Hospital’s short stay car park will both close on Monday (September 10).
Council chiefs expect Chapel Street car park to re-open on September 14 after being resurfaced.
Drivers are being advised to use Oat Street car park as an alternative and it will be available in a long and short stay capacity.
The investment, costing nearly £40,000, will ensure the car park is safe and ready for the winter weather and will be much more cost effective than making patch repairs.
Pershore Hospital’s short stay car park will be closed until September 13. These repairs will cost just over £11,000 and customers will have the option of using neighbouring long stay car parks around the Civic Centre.
Coun Lynne Duffy, deputy leader at Wychavon Council, said: “Investing in our car parks is important to ensure they’re safe and fit for purpose. The work will be completed as quickly as possible.”
