A POPULAR travelling museum will fill the streets of Pershore as part of the 2015 Poppy Appeal launch.

The museum of First World War and Second World War artefacts will be on show in Chapman Court tomorrow (Saturday), and official poppy merchandise including traditional badges, pins and poppies will be available from 10am to 4pm.

The Royal British Legion’s (RBL) Women’s Section will also be involved in the launch of the poppy appeal with a ‘Whist Drive’ on Saturday (October 31), in St Wulstan’s Church Hall from 7.30pm and costing £3.

They will also be hosting the popular Bon Marche Fashion Show on Wednesday, November 18 at Abbey Park Middle School, from 7pm and costing £3.




Poppy collectors will be in the town’s ASDA from Monday (October 26) to Saturday, November 7, and will also be at Pershore Naval Social Club from tomorrow (Saturday).

A series of remembrance services will also be held across the town and surrounding areas.


Pershore Abbey will host a service on Sunday, November 8 at 10.40am, where a salute will be taken outside the Town Hall underneath the Town Clock as a memorial to those who died during the Second World War.

Wick’s remembrance service will start at 3pm.

There will also be services by Willow Bank House Residential Home in Tilesford on Monday, November 9 from 11am, and the Pershore Schools Armistice Service and Pershore Cemetery Armistice Service at Pershore Commemorative Garden, on Wednesday, November 11 at 9.30am and 11am respectively.
