AN EVESHAM student was rewarded for outstanding academic achievement with a £1,000 scholarship.
Holly Butler was one of 112 students were presented with academic scholarships by the University of Worcester’s Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor David Green, at two ceremonies at the University of Worcester Arena.
Holly earned her scholarship in recognition of outstanding achievement throughout the 2013/14 academic year.
The former De Montfort School pupil, who is in the third year of her Primary Initial Teacher Education course, said: “When I received the scholarship it was a complete surprise, but I felt a great sense of achievement and was pleased that my
progress had been recognised.”
Professor Green added: “Congratulations to Holly on her achievement. Commitment combined with ability produces outstanding results and we are delighted that Holly is thriving here at Worcester.
“This year we were delighted to award academic scholarships to 112 students and hope to award even more next year as our students go from strength to strength.
“These scholarships are supported by generous philanthropists and the University’s distinguished Honorary Fellows.
“The award of a scholarship is excellent for a student’s job prospects as well as providing welcome practical support.” he
added.
