EXPLORER Scouts from Evesham’s Great Bear Unit are celebrating after coming out on top in annual event organised by Redditch Scout District.
The youngsters came first in the Venture class at the 34th annual ‘Trek’, a challenge hike which began in Inkberrow.
Teams of scouts, explorers and leaders work out their own route by connecting grid references supplied prior to the hike.
Scouting skills are tested at each activity base and awarded with points.
Team ‘Great Bear’ came out on top after collecting more than 400 points and walking a total distance of around 20 km within the seven hours allowed for the hike.
