EVESHAM’s popular Festival of Words will welcome broadcaster and comedian Ian McMillan and the UK’s Cartoonist of the Year Tony Husband for an evening of humour to suit all ages.

The pair will team up on Friday, May 19 for ‘A Cartoon History of Here’ at Evesham Town Hall as part of the Festival fringe which runs until the end of the year.

Yorkshire poet Ian’s nineteen to the dozen, two-way banter, plucks memories, recollection, ideas and general funny moments from his eager audience, weaving a tapestry of hilarity and all based on Evesham.

As Ian works his manic magic, quick draw Tony pulls it all together to create the most gloriously eye-watering images, of what life in the Vale is like all done under their audience’s nose.

Festival Chairman, Sue Ablett, said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Ian and Tony are part of this year’s festival.

“We have an amazing programme of events, speakers, workshops and lots more.

“Something for all ages and this light-hearted look at life in Evesham is the perfect opener for the festival fringe, which runs until the end of the year,” she added.

The show will take place at the Town Hall from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and tickets are now on sale.

Tickets are available online at www.eveshamfestivalofwords.org at the Almonry on Vine Street or at the vintage tea shop, Jellypicklejam, in Vine Mews.
