Toby becomes 100th to find forever home in 2018

CELEBRATIONS have been held at Dogs Trust Evesham as the charity rehomed its 100th homeless hound of the year, despite it only being February.

Taking the accolade is Max (now named Toby), a seven-month-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, who has been adopted by Emily and Daniel from Colchester who were looking to add another dog to their family after losing one of their spaniels last year.

“We saw Toby on the website and we immediately fell in love with him! We’ve always owned Cavalier Spaniels and after losing one of ours last year, our other dog Ruby has really missed having her best mate around. We had been searching for the right dog to come and live with us and when we saw Toby, it just felt right,” Emily said.

“Luckily he turned out to be the perfect match for us and Ruby and he’s gorgeous! He’ll definitely keep us on our toes; he’s great fun but loves a cuddle too. We live near the beach so we can’t wait to take him there for a run around. We’re looking forward to giving him the great life he deserves.”

Chris Slight, Dogs Trust Evesham Rehoming Centre Manager said: “It has certainly been a busy start to the year but it’s fantastic that so many people, like Emily and Daniel, want to give a dog a second chance. In the last few weeks we’ve rehomed dogs of all shapes and sizes, from Labradors to Lurchers, and to know that they’ve all headed off to their loving forever homes is fantastic.”
