This year's Evesham River Festival officially launched

Evesham Editorial 3rd May, 2017   0

THIS year’s Evesham River Boat Festival has been officially launched and a host of activities and events will be taking place.

The boats will again take to the water from Friday, July 7 until Sunday, July 9 as the annual festival returns.

A number of events will be taking place over the weekend including a steamboat parade, with festival goers able to take a closer look at the craft. The Newfoundland Dogs from South Wales will also be returning to show off their skill at water rescue.

Local flood rescue team, South Worcestershire Life Savers will be putting their skills on show as well as offering trips on their boats.

The ever-popular ‘make your own raft’ will also be back and residents are invited to take part.

And as every year, the annual event culminates with the popular illuminated boat parade and firework display and this year’s boat theme will be book titles.

There will also be music from the stage to entertain the crowds, as well as stalls and a bar.

This year festival organisers are offering a limited number of corporate sponsorship opportunities for local businesses where they can get involved and have their own boat for the day.
