THE DETAILS of this year’s Evesham Remembrance Day Parade and Armistice Day commemorations have been revealed.

On Saturday, Armistice Day, the Evesham branch of the Royal British Legion will be holding a short service at 10.50am at the War Memorial in Abbey Park.

Then on Sunday members of Evesham Town Council, together with representatives of various local groups, will be attending the Remembrance Day Parade and Service.

At 10.15am uniformed organisations and ex-service personnel will assemble in the Market Square. Representatives of organisations who are laying wreaths at the War Memorial are also asked to join the Market Square section of the parade to the War Memorial as a wreath laying party.

The parade will then be inspected by the Mayor of Evesham, Coun Richard Jones, at 10.40am.

At 10.50 am the uniformed organisations and ex-service personnel parade will make their way from the Market Square down Bridge Street and to the War Memorial via the Crown Courtyard and Abbey Park led by Avonbank Band and the ex-service Standard Bearers.

The town will then fall silent at 11.00am to remember those who lost their lives and wreaths will also be placed at the foot of the War Memorial.

Following the two minute silence, the band will lead the ex-service standard bearers, the Civic Party and the uniformed organisations to All Saints’ Church for a Service of Remembrance.

At the conclusion of the service, the Civic Party will leave and proceed to the saluting base in Vine Street via Abbot Reginald’s Gateway and Market Square.

The uniformed organisations and ex-service personnel parade will form up on the main churchyard path and then make their way to Vine Street where the salute will be taken. The Parade will then continue to the Market Square for dismissal.
