THE STREETS of Pershore were cleaned and cleared after members of Wychavon District Council swept through the town picking up litter.
Pershore Mayor Coun Tony Rowley and Coun Val Wood were two of several councillors who took part in the towns bi-annual litter pick, where they manged to fill more than 30 bags full of rubbish in just one day.
Coun Wood, said: “This as a sad reflection on the lack of care of some people passing through, but also a celebration of the community cohesion that is apparent in Pershore.
“Many thanks to the four lads from Eckington who spent some of their Saturday morning giving a hand.
“The next one will be in early October when who knows, bacon butties may be the reward!”
