A PENSIONER was distracted by two thieves claiming to sell poppies when they unzipped her handbag and stole from her.
It happened on Evesham’s High Street sometime between 2.15pm and 2.45pm yesterday afternoon.
The victim was approached by two women who began talking to her about poppies.
That’s when they unzipped the the side pocket of the victim’s handbag and stole an OAP bus pass.
The victim told West Mercia Police she felt intimidated when one of the thieves pinned a poppy on her coat.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 0522S of Monday, October 30.
