DUST off your leg warmers and comb up your hair as Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) gets set to take audiences back to an era when music was king!
Yes, Back to the 80s Singalong promises to have you dancing in your seats and singing your heart out to all the iconic tunes of this much-loved decade.
The stage at Number 8, Pershore will be filled with PODS members in their favourite 80s attire in fine voice, joining in with songs from a wide range of 80s bands and artists including Culture Club, Queen, Phil Collins, Bonnie Tyler, Aerosmith, Madonna, Billy Joel and many, many more.
In true PODS style these songs will have layers of harmonies and magic composed by musical director Andrew Hemming.
But don’t worry every voice is welcome at a PODS singalong and you’re sure to recognise almost every song.
With a big screen at the back of the stage with the words projected on to, fans can even join in without having to memorise a catalogue of music!
This is PODS fourth singalong production which compliment their full scale shows that they perform in June and December every year.
“The singalong is a great way for us to raise money for the society to help us keep producing professional standard shows.
“It also gives the members of the public a chance to join in with us and feel like a member of PODS, and we love that!” said PODS chair Carole Brookes.
It’s all happening on Saturday, September 23 with two shows, a matinee at 2.30pm and an evening performance at 7.30pm.
