There’s still time to nominate your heroes

Evesham Editorial 11th Jan, 2018   0

WYCHAVON residents have a few weeks left to nominate a local hero who has gone above and beyond for the community.

The annual Community Recognition Awards run by Wychavon District Council recognises those who have volunteered, coached or helped others in the district to make it a better place to live and work.

To nominate an individual, organisation or community group, a nomination form needs to be filled in and returned by 5pm on February 2 and the awards ceremony will take place on March 8 – by invitation only.

The categories for 2017 include the Young Volunteer award, Arts Recognition award, Sporting Hero award, Community Project award, Lifetime Achievement award and more.

Tracy Grubb, Community Development Officer at Wychavon District Council, said:

“It’s brilliant that we’re doing the Community Recognition Awards again this year.

“We rely on volunteers to make things happen, so it’s only right that they should be acknowledged for all the time that they have put in to making Wychavon a better place to live and work.”

Nomination forms are available at www.wychavon.gov.uk/recognitionaward or contact Tracy Grubb on 01386 565168 or [email protected] for more information.
