THE SOUNDS of Reaction Music will be on offer at the latest of Wychavon District Council’s musical performances for people living with dementia.
Members of the group will take to the stage at Pershore Number 8 on Wednesday from 1.30pm to 2.45pm.
Guests can find out about life as a professional musician or about favourite pieces of music, as well as share memories and thoughts about music.
No musical experience is necessary and a beautiful range of melodic and percussive world instruments are supplied for each session.
The workshops have been running since 2014 with a variety of music genres represented including Latin American, contemporary, classical and folk. Jenny Davis, arts development officer at Wychavon, said: “We have had a great response from people who have attended our workshops over the years and I’m so excited for the upcoming year to begin.
“We have an entertaining programme planned with lots of talented musicians and singers. Workshops like this have a positive impact on people by reducing isolation, getting them involved and helping them to make new friends,” she added.
Admission is £2. Call the Number 8 Box Office on 01386 555488 or visit www.number8.org to book.
