A POPULAR Evesham music venue could be named the best in Worcestershire after being shortlisted for an award.
The Iron Road is a finalist in the ‘Best Worcestershire Music Venue’ category at the What’s On Readers’ Awards 2017 and is up against four other venues hoping to win the title.
Staff at the High Street venue have worked hard over the past three years to attracts bands and acts from around the world and the venue in now international renowned.
Muttley Watson, from the Iron Road, told the Observer winning the award would be a recognition of the staff’s hard work in making the venue a success.
“”It’s a fabulous honour to be nominated in the What’s On Reader’s Awards for Best Live Music Venue,” Mr Watson said.
“The Railway Hotel was severely damaged when we took over 3 years ago and a massive amount of commitment and hard work was required to turn it from a little used locals bar to the full time venue it is today, known worldwide. It’s fantastic to be able to attract the big international tours to Worcestershire and this award would be great recognition for the whole team at The Iron Road, Evesham.”
